Why We Must #ShutDownStewart
Organizers from Georgia Detention Watch, Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition, and the Shut Down Stewart movement, will conduct a detailed workshop on the human rights violations taking place at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA.  Speakers to include: Azadeh Shahshahani, Dianne Mathiowetz, and several directly impacted individuals who will share their stories.
Non-violent Direct Action Workshop
Following the workshop on Stewart, many will engage in a Know-Your-Rights training and discussion about conducting civil disobedience at Stewart the next day.  Several individuals have already expressed interest, and we are calling on others who would like to engage in Non-violent Direct Action at Stewart to contact us.

#ShutDownStewart Vigil IX

We will gather at 9:30am in downtown Lumpkin, GA for music and speakers.  Then, we will march to the gates of Stewart Detention Center where we will hold a vigil in solidarity with those detained at Stewart.  We want them to hear us, so bring your pots, pans, buckets, horns, drums, and sirens along with your voices!!  After hearing from directly impacted folks at the gates, all will be invited to engage in several forms of civil disobedience!

Close the SOA March and Vigil
As in the past, we will again march on the School of the Americas where we will hold a vigil in remembrance of the lives lost at the hands of those who have graduated from the SOA.
