Win Without War is joining with our allies to organize a huge national day of action on August 26 to defend the Iran deal. Will you attend an event to support diplomacy with Iran?
Next month, Congress will cast an historic vote on whether to sabotage the Iran nuclear peace deal and put us back on the path to confrontation with Iran. This is a vote very much like the one members of Congress cast in 2002 on whether to authorize war with Iraq. Like that vote, the stakes are war and peace. We have to remind members of Congress that, like the Iraq war vote, members of Congress who vote against the deal will be held accountable.
Win Without War is joining with our allies at CREDO, MoveOn, Democracy for America, and others to organize a national day of action on August 26 to oppose war with Iran. Click here to find an action near you and sign up to attend.
Americans are tired of war. It’s no surprise that a majority support diplomacy with Iran. But special interests that want to see diplomacy fail are pouring tens of millions of dollars into pressuring members of Congress. We have to get really loud to make sure our voices aren’t drowned out by deceptive political ads and backroom pressure by lobbyists and politically-connected donors.
Momentum is on our side. More than 25 Democratic and independent senators—including the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee—have already publicly supported the deal. And more than 150 House members signed a letter in the spring in defense of diplomacy.
On Wednesday, August 26, at more than 200 events, Win Without War members and allies will gather outside the offices of key Senators and Representatives to deliver petitions, gain the attention of local media, and send a national message—will you be there?
Thank you for working for peace,
Win Without War
