On Monday, Jan. 19, there will be a “Black Lives Matter” contingent in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day march that begins on Peachtree and ends at the King gravesite..
This call is being issued by a number of groups to show that Atlanta’s communities are unifying around a deeper commitment to justice and liberation for Black people, people of color, and all people.
The gathering location is at Peachtree and Ellis at 1:15pm on Monday. The march start time is 1:30pm.
Printed signs saying “Black Lives Matter” will be available but hand-made signs and banners are also welcome.
