Candlelight Vigil for Medicaid Expansion

Candlelight Vigil for Medicaid Expansion

6 p.m. this Saturday, October 18

Georgia State Capitol

Nationwide Medicaid Memorials are happening in non-expansion states across the country on this day. Georgia’s Expansion supporters will meet outside the Capitol and are asked to bring a white candle in memory of one individual who has passed due to lack of health insurance in Georgia since the option to expand Medicaid began (or in anticipation of those who will pass away in the months and years ahead without expansion). Organizers hope it could go a long way toward putting heat on our legislators to reconsider Governor Deal’s and the General Assembly’s Medicaid blockade if there is a large turnout at this event. It could prove to be a major turning point for Georgia citizens who are languishing without care if we came out in big enough numbers. Please consider joining in and asking friends, family and your faith communities to become involved. For more info or questions, email The Facebook page is .

Poor people have a right to health insurance too!
